A lot of the work on our little house has to do with bringing cleaner, less fussy accessories to the spaces. The previous owners had a very distinct style. The organic lines they favored worked with the cabin-in-the-woods feel, but we're playing-up the big rectangle aspect of the space a bit more. Plus, those lights were a beeyotch to clean. They attracted spiders, were perfect cups for dust, and no matter how much I dusted, emptied, and scrubbed the damn things, they always looked dirty. They have been replaced with oil rubbed bronze sconces which I chose partially because they can be installed pointing up or pointing down (no more dust cups!), and I liked the shape. Plus, my Charles and I agreed on these bad boys, so up they went. The ORB and white pick up the black and white accents in the house, and they're a lot brighter too. The best part, we were able to purchase two, one for either end of the front wall, for less than a hundred bucks.
